Too Much Time Indoors

On Saturday, I finally went back to yoga after skipping for almost a month. I am still sore and that was 3 days ago.Continue Reading

Baby Cravings

So, I’ve been wanting to have another baby. Even though the hubs and I have taken fairly permanent measures to prevent this, I can’t watch TV anymore because they are always showing cute, chubby-cheeked, snuggly babies on it. Maybe I should watch more of the Spike network. Pretty sure the only babes they show are of the scantily-clad, buxom, 17-24 variety. Continue Reading

Let’s Go to the Snow!

Gryphon immediately began to wail the moment his hands touched the snow. I guess he hadn’t been prepared for its cold sting on his soft baby skin. My dad and I couldn’t help but laugh at this as I brushed the snow dust off of Gryphy’s icy little hands and slipped a pair of socks, the makeshift mittens I’d brought, onto them. As you can see from the photos, we don’t own much gear to properly outfit us for snowy environments.Continue Reading

Despite Our Heavy Hearts, Wishing You Peace and Love This Season

I believe that the sweet precious little angels would not want any of us to be sad for too long. They wouldn’t want to let whatever form of mental illness that the person (I can’t bring myself to call him a man, and person is a stretch, too- idiot, maybe?) who took their lives was going through to sicken our spirits this holiday season. I am not saying to forget about these sweet babies. We can honor, respect and cherish them as our own children. The purest of souls would want for us to enjoy this holiday with empathy, gratitude, love and light.Continue Reading

The Upside of Pain

Pain, in certain forms, can be viewed as a message from the universe, the Divine or however you relate to that infinite force (if you believe in that sort of thing) letting us know that some sort of change is needed. Silently, yet insistently telling us that we need to work a little harder at maintaining balance. Even if we don’t recognize it, at first, and it just feels like a major inconvenience.Continue Reading

My Gradual Recovery! (or, Keep Off the Gluten)

A dear friend recently brought over one of those green bottled beverages that resemble pond scum. Once I got past the way it looked, I discovered that I loved it. I wanted to marry it. But since I am already married, I at least wanted to have it in my life on a regular basis.Continue Reading

Just Way too Busy!

Sickness creeps in to tell me, hey, take it easy. But does anyone do that? I think so many of us parents feel this way. How in the world do we keep up with all the demands placed upon us?Continue Reading

Good Deed of the Week

Eric, “You must have the wrong number.”

Me, “Well, actually I’m calling to let you know that you had the wrong number.”

Eric, “Wrong numbers all around.”

Me, “Not exactly, you see, you left a message on my phone but it was meant for someone else.”

Eric, “I certainly never sent an email to anyone last night.”

Me, “No! It wasn’t an email. It was a voice message meant for someone named Jean and it sounded like your voice.”

Eric, “It certainly wasn’t my voice.”

(Oh, but it was.)

Me, (attempting to jog Eric’s memory,) “Are you sure you didn’t try to call and leave a message saying thank you to someone named Jean?”
